VFW breakfast

AUBURN – A breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave. Cost is $3.50/$4.50. Proceeds will benefit the New Auburn Little League. For more information, call 784-6883.

College workshop

LEWISTON – Maine Educational Opportunity Center adviser Christy Le will hold an “Essentials of College Planning” workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.

MEOC is a federally funded program that helps qualified adults make the transition toward a college education. The program, which is housed at the University of Maine, provides assistance for qualified adults living in Maine and helps them go to whichever college or university they choose.

All services are free. Services provided include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career counseling, financial aid counseling, college admissions process.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 30 were: first, Marta Clements and Luke Merry; second, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; third, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; fourth, Patricia Smith and Shirley West; first in B, Donna Bartlett and Mary Leahey.
