Board: Auburn City Council Met: Monday night
Issue: Specialty sauce maker World Harbors, based in the Kittyhawk Industrial Park, plans a $1.5 million, 21,500-square-foot expansion of its local operation. It will be paid for through company-backed bonds sold through the city.
The scoop: It’s the second time the city has helped World Harbors issue bonds. A similar deal late in 2000 helped pay for the company’s initial construction.
Up next: The bonds should go up for sale in March and work on the expansion should begin in the spring.
