RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Citizens recently took trips to Hollywood Slots in Bangor and to see “The Old Settler” at the Public Theatre in Lewiston.

A shopping trip to Portland is held on the second Thursday of each month and costs $5. Everyone can go on the trip. For more information, call 364-4700.

Other scheduled trips include one to Beacon Resort to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 7 with a sit-down dinner and show. Cost is $48 for members; $53 for nonmembers.

The group will travel to Portland for the Stars on Ice on March 24. The bus will leave at 2 p.m. to allow for dinner-on-your-own at the Portland Mall followed by the show at 7 p.m. The cost is $45 for members; $50, nonmembers.

Those interested in the trips are advised to sign up early, as the group has a first-come, first-served policy for all trips.

A sugar trip is planned for April 11 to a farm where they make maple sugar the old fashioned way, with a return to Indian Head for a buffet and show. Cost is $45 for members; $50, nonmembers.

To sign up for any of the trips, go the Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Bingo is played every Tuesday with a start time of 12:30 p.m. and cribbage day is Thursday with a start time of 12:30.

SeniorsPlus serves lunch at 11:30 a.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The seniors will hold elections in March. President, vice president and several board positions are open. Those who would like to hold a position should submit their name so it may be placed on the ballot. For more information, call 364-4700.
