AUBURN – The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the eighth annual St. Patrick’s Round Robin Basketball Tournament, March 9-11.

The tourney, for Grades 5-6, will involve both girls and boys divisions. Each team is guaranteed 3 games.

Entry fee is $90. Deadline for registration is Feb. 28. More information can be obtained by contacting Loretta Martin, recreation specialist/tourney director, at the APRD at 784-0191. The e-mail address is [email protected].

Central Maine League

Dixfield stayed unbeaten in the Central Maine Youth Basketball League (Boys Grades 3-4) Sunday with a 33-22 victory over Turner. Tyler Frost led the Dixies with 13 points. Nick St. Germain and Riley Robinson added 8 apiece. Austin Anderson tallied 7 for Turner. Kaleb Main was next with 4.

Maranacook edged Gardiner 38-36 as Cameron Brochu and Jason Brooks each netted 12. Bradley Weston (11), Josh McKelvey (7) and Quinton Hanna (7) led Gardiner.

Hall-Dale knocked off Winthrop 28-21 as Brian Allen scored 12 and Ben Fortin 6. Ben Allen paced Winthrop with 7. Taylor Morang added 5.

Auburn-Lewiston YMCA and Monmouth did not play.

Feb. 18 schedule: A-L YMCA at Dixfield, Gardiner at Hall-Dale, Maranacook at Winthrop, A-L YMCA at Monmouth (Saturday).
