LEWISTON- As part of its mission to integrate the arts into everyday life, L/A Arts has once again partnered with a local eatery, the newly opened Barnie’s Coffee and Tea Co., to showcase works by local artists.

Artwork is displayed on a vibrant yellow-orange wall, an eye-catching spot for anyone walking into the cafe in Mill Building No. 6 at 40 Lincoln St., where Fish Bones restaurant is also located.

The first exhibit features Nancy Preble’s beautiful images of New England, including a summer scene of porch chairs and flowers, two canoes on a lake at sunset, and a full moon captured with its reflection on Lake George. The artwork will be up through March 22.

All of the pieces on display are available for purchase.

“This is our second new foray within the last 12 months into the arena of the visual arts,” said L/A Arts Executive Director Andrew Harris. “Our Art & Ale Gallery in the Gritty’s Window in Auburn has been very well received. I’m confident that the Art & Java Wall in Barnie’s will have similar success.”

Artwork for the Art and Java Wall is selected and displayed by L/A Arts. To purchase art or find out more about the wall gallery, visit www.laarts.org, or call the local arts agency at 782-7228.
