BATH – The Battlefield Band will bring its unique blend of old Scottish music and self-penned material to the Chocolate Church Performing Arts Center Saturday, March 3. Inspired by its rich heritage of Celtic music and fueled by the strength of today’s Scottish cultural scene, the band performs under its banner “Forward With Scotland’s Past.”

Members play an array of ancient and modern instruments: bagpipes, fiddle, synthesisers, guitar, cittern, flute, bodhran and accordion.

Named after the Glasgow suburb of Battlefield, where the group was formed by four student friends, the Battlefield Band has been performing for 30-plus years in Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Syria, Jordan, India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, the United States, Canada, Uzbekistan and the U.K.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $21-$26. For tickets, call 442-8455. The arts center is at 798 Washington St.
