FARMINGTON – Selectmen will discuss accepting a couple of donations at their 6:30 p.m. Tuesday meeting in the Municipal Building.
An anonymous offer of $1,000 has been made to the Police Department, said Town Manager Richard Davis. The donation would be used for a police recognition program. Police would have coins to give to individuals who have done a good deed or helped save a life. They would be a commemorative type of “challenge coin,” he said. The coins have a law enforcement logo on one side and the town seal on the other.
The other donation, for $5,100, would purchase new lighting at the Community Center and is offered by Richard Bjorn.
