Society supper

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, March 20, starting at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck supper. The program will feature Cindy Osgood of R.S. Osgood and Sons of East Dixfield. She is a fourth-generation Osgood to run the business. She will show old photos and tell the history of the local enterprise.

Networking

RUMFORD – A community networking meeting will be held at noon Tuesday, March 20, at the Rumford Public Library, Rumford Avenue. It is sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition.

Heidi Provencher, director at the Greenleaf House, will give an overview of the facility. The Greenleaf Hose was the original Rumford Group Home program serving adolescence ages 12 to 18 years. For more information, call Patty at 364-7408.

Rockets to appear

RUMFORD – The Harlem Rockets will appear at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at the Mt. Valley High School.

Society speaker

RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the Municipal Building conference room.

The speaker will be Stacy Welner, who has written a book about the 1941 Don Disaster. President Bill Weston invites anyone interested in the project to attend.

Library projects

MEXICO – “Cabin Fever Relievers,” spring projects, will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Calvin Lyons Hall, Town Office.

Mexico Public Library will host the spring card-making and stamping party, led by Cindy Welch and Elyse Briggs.

There will be five projects with a spring/Easter theme. Prior experience with card-making and stamping is not required. Refreshments and beverages will be served.

The cost is $12 a person. All supplies for the projects are included in the price. To sign up and prepay, go to the library, 134 Main St., Friday, March 16.

Alzheimer group

RUMFORD – The Alzheimer Support Group will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at 85 Lincoln Ave.

Club to meet

MEXICO – Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, downstairs at the Town Hall. All are welcome. Those who would like to join may do so at the meeting. For more information, call Nick Brown at 364-8665.

Legion supper

RUMFORD – The American Legion will serve a shepherd’s pie supper from 4:30 p.m. until sold out Thursday, March 22. Take-outs will be available by calling 369-9053. The meal is open to the public.

Basket Bingo

DIXFIELD – Longaberger Basket Bingo will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the American Legion, Main Street.

Tickets are $10 each, available at Franklin Savings Bank, the Far East and Dirigo High School. There will be raffles, door prizes and 50/50 drawing, sponsored by the Dirigo Athletic Boosters.
