LISBON – Police are investigating an incident where a large truck backed into a utility pole on Capital Avenue in Lisbon Falls on Thursday morning and left the scene.
According to witnesses, the Swift Transportation truck backed into the pole several times near the Maine Recycling plant around 10:19 a.m., taking a large chunk out of the pole, which had to be replaced. Witnesses told police they saw visible damage to the rear bumper of the truck.
Lisbon police officer Ryan McGee said someone did contact police later, but all available officers were tied up so the investigation was incomplete Thursday night.
