AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will host its annual spring open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at its lakeside campus at 1250 Turner St. Faculty members and services staff will be on hand to provide information on programs of study, financial aid, the admissions process and options for transferring to four-year colleges.

“We will offer campus tours and other opportunities to learn more about student life on campus,” said Admissions Director Betsy Libby. “Students can also learn more about our new residence hall that will open in the fall, register for door prizes and sample refreshments prepared by our culinary arts students.”

Dean of Student Services Randall E. Lee will also be present to meet with prospective students and their families. “CM gives people in our community a great way to start on a college career. I look forward to talking with people about what we can do to help them build a better future,” he said.

A special feature will be the availability of one-on-one assistance with a financial aid representative in completing the FAFSA worksheet for electronic processing. Anyone interested in the service is asked to bring the following: parent(s) tax return for 2006; student tax return for 2006; and W-2 forms for parent(s) and student (especially if tax returns are not completed). Students will then be able to complete the FAFSA online at home.

The college offers quality career and technical programs that prepare graduates for immediate employment and continued education. In addition, the college offers transfer programs that enable graduates to continue their education at a four-year institution.

Students may attend full or part-time, and many evening courses are available. The college offers a variety of extracurricular activities, and the athletic department offers baseball, softball and men’s and women’s basketball.
