PARIS – The Paris Department of Parks and Recreation has lined up a slate of musicians for this summer’s Moore Park Summer Entertainment Series. Moore Park’s gazebo has been host to local favorites, singer-songwriters and cover bands – poised to visit again for eight summer Wednesday evening musical events.

The department has also announced that its Moore Park Summer Children’s Series will feature eight weeks of entertaining acts for the young and young at heart every Wednesday morning. There will be magic, mime, storytelling, science, fire trucks and a New Balance playground.

The concert schedule is as follows:

June 27: Abracadabra Productions, magic, at 10 a.m.; Soft Touch, 1940s music through today, at 6 p.m.

July 11: Rick Adam, one-man parade; Lady Luck Duo, 1950s and 1960s music.

July 18: “Emergency!,” fire trucks and police cars; Bel Airs, local country music.

July 25: Mad Science; E. Ross Trio, soulful folk.

Aug. 1: The Little Red Wagon Tour, theater; Anni Clark with special guests.

Aug. 8: Antonio Rocha, mime; Horizon, Christian rock.

Aug. 15: Sidecar Heroes, a capella; Port City Jazz, big band.

Aug. 22: Dan Grady, puppeteer; The Parisians, bandstand.

All events will be held at Moore Park unless otherwise indicated (with rain location at the Paris Fire Hall, Western Avenue, unless otherwise indicated). Admission is free and the programs are open to the public.

Those attending concerts are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Guests are welcome to pack a picnic. Large groups from day care centers, nursing homes and/or other organizations are encouraged. For more information, contact the director of parks and recreation at 743-2501.
