CHANDLER, Ariz. – Josh Mackey ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to help the University of Southern Maine defeat Gustavus Adolphus 8-6 in baseball Friday.

Mackey’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning broke open a 5-5 tie. Eddie Skeffington added a two-run homer for the Huskies (3-0) while Jordan Yanni chipped in with three hits, including a pair of doubles. Pat Foley picked up the win in relief of starter Andrew Stacy. Tim Therrian collected his first save of the year.

Shea Roehrkasse had three hits and delivered a two-run double for Gustavus Adolphus (4-3). Troy Herman suffered the loss. The teams were scheduled to play two games, but the night cap was rained out.
