FARMINGTON – The Western Maine Audubon Society will sponsor a field trip on Saturday, April 7, to the Butterfly and Insect Museum and Maine Art Glass Studio in Lisbon Falls.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. The tour will take approximately an hour and a half. Those wishing to have lunch at their own cost in the area afterward should indicate it when they preregister.

Those going will meet at 9 a.m. in the Jay Plaza parking lot at the corner closest to McDonald’s. Jim Nutting will provide a guided tour of preserved as well as live specimens at 10:30. Car pooling will be necessary.

There will be a fee of $3 a person fee the day. Preregistration is requested by Friday, March 30, by calling 897-5818 or e-mailing [email protected].

Nutting is a graduate of Bates College. His passion for butterflies and insects began when he was 5 years old and has endured for five decades. Nutting is also a stained glass artist. The museum and studio are located at 51 Main St., Lisbon Falls.
