PARIS – Holy Week services at First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, will begin with Palm Sunday worship on April 1. Dr. Art Judge will lead the 10 a.m. service. Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school. Child care is provided.

Brunch will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Shirley Miller will lead the Maundy Thursday Communion service at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5. Music for the services will be by the choir and Forest Perkins, church organist. All are welcome.

Library event

NORWAY – Norway Memorial Library will host a First Friday Opening of a fiber arts exhibit from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 6, presented in collaboration with Western Maine Art Group.

Lee Barth, Ellen Benner, Amber Brooks, Suzanne Bruno, Connie Schmotzer-Fletcher, Rose Ellen Harmon, Diane Jackman, Joan Moorhead, Doreen Simmons and Barbara Traficonte will display quilts, hooked rugs, crazy quilt soft sculpture, felted bags and knit shawls.

Tally Decato of Western Maine Art Group coordinated the exhibit to be shown in the library’s reference room and glass case display. Items will remain on view through May and may be seen whenever the library is open. For more information, contact the library at 743-5309.

Registration set

HEBRON – Hebron Station School will hold kindergarten registration for the September classes from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 3. Any child who will be age 5 by Oct. 15 is eligible to register for kindergarten.

Parents should call the school secretary at 966-3323 to schedule a 15-minute appointment for the screening process. They should bring their child, a copy of the birth certificate, immunization record, physical examination record and appropriate legal documents if a guardian.

The child will have a vision/hearing test, a speech screening, height/weight measurements and a brief readiness screening.

Knitters to meet

PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 3, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris. A speaker from a local yarn shop will present the program. Those interested in knitting are welcome to attend.
