LEWISTON – Members of the Legislature’s Androscoggin County delegation elected a chairwoman, vice chairman and secretary as well as two legislative members to the County Budget Committee for the years 2007-09.

The delegation is made up of the state senators and representatives whose districts wholly or partially lie within the boundaries of Androscoggin County.

The elected are chairwoman Rep. Margaret Craven, D-Lewiston; vice chairman Rep. Scott Lansley, R-Sabattus; secretary Rep. William Walcott, D-Lewiston; Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello, R-Poland and Rep. Mark Samson, D-Auburn, County Budget Committee. All votes were unanimous.

“The delegation is a bipartisan group and will work together for our shared constituents,” Craven said in a prepared statement.

The County Budget Committee meets to work on and set the county budget each year. Two members of the Androscoggin Delegation are elected every two years to serve on the committee.
