According to Paul McGrath, Margaret Peters’ brother, James Michael Peters did not have an excessive alcohol problem. “He, in fact, is a paranoid schizophrenic who didn’t take his medicine” in the days preceding the shooting. In addition, McGrath disputes that John Scott Peters died by suicide last year. He “died of a heart attack,” McGrath said.
