TURNER – Absentee ballots are available at the Town Office for next week’s runoff election, Town Clerk Eva Leavitt said Tuesday.

Polls will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Town Office to determine the winners of two three-way ties for Budget Committee seats.

Write-in candidates for the open seats, a three-year term and a one-year term, each got three votes in last Friday’s election, Leavitt said.

Eric Breidenstein, Harry Ricker and Linwood Gilbert tied for the three-year term. Gilbert has withdrawn his name and is not on next Wednesday’s ballot.

Breidenstein, Gregory Gilbert Sr. and Kurt Youland tied for the one-year seat. Incumbent Youland was re-elected to his seat on the Budget Committee, so he too has withdrawn from the runoff race.

Two three-way ties was something she hadn’t seen before, “not in my 20 years as town clerk,” Leavitt said.
