PORTLAND – So much for the start of baseball season being a harbinger of spring.

For the second straight day, Opening Day of the 2007 Portland Sea Dogs season had to be postponed Friday due to field conditions. Sea Dogs’ employees spent Friday removing snow from Hadlock Field in hopes of holding the game against the Connectict Defenders, as well as the Opening Day and championship ring ceremonies, at 1 p.m. today, weather and field conditions permitting.

No makeup dates for either the April 5 or April 6 postponements have been announced. Fans with tickets for either of those games may exchange their tickets at the Hadlock Field Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any 2007 Sea Dogs’ home game, subject to availability. Any questions regarding tickets should be directed to the Sea Dogs Box Office at 207-879-9500 or by email to tickets@seadogs.com.

The Sea Dogs are scheduled to play the Defenders through Sunday, then begin a three-game series at Hadlock against New Britain.
