For many years, The North Auburn Cash Market had a bulletin board near the door featuring Polaroid snapshots of fishermen and the fish they had pulled from the waters of Lake Auburn. In deer season, the board featured deer.
Under the counter were hundreds, perhaps thousands, of photos collected over the years.
Well, the Cash Market is gone, and we miss it. But the old photo display was the inspiration for a new electronic feature we’re calling “The Trophy Room.”
Anglers are invited to post any and all fishing photos on the site for the enjoyment of their friends, neighbors and fellow anglers. They can even share some information, if they are willing, about how and where they caught the lunker.
You may post fishing photos from anywhere, whether you were in Alaska, Bermuda, Rangeley Lake or your backyard stream. You may post as often as you want, depending upon how often you are out and the fish are striking.
Post photos of yourself, your friends fighting that small mouth bass, or one of your grandchildren posing with their 3-incher.
If you are not photo savvy, we’ve included some tips for getting a digital photo on the Web on A1.
Or, you may just want to visit the site for the articles about fishing or to check out what other fishermen are catching.
We have big plans for The Trophy Room. As we move into turkey, deer and bear season we will be opening up separate “rooms” for each season.
So, please check out The Trophy Room at www.sunjournal.com, bookmark it and regularly check it out.
