AUBURN – “Supervising People: The Essential Skills for Leaders” (CED 009-01) is a new program offered by the corporate and community services department at Central Maine Community College. The five-part series will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, May 1 through 29. The cost is $275 and includes materials.

Managers, supervisors and team leaders are encouraged to attend the interactive program. Topics will include communication, coaching, handling difficult employees, teambuilding and team problem-solving. For a description of the program, visit www.cmcc.edu/training.

The series will be facilitated by Marylin Newell, executive coach, seminar leader and registered counselor and the founder of Life Matters in Mechanic Falls.

She started as an adjunct faculty member in 1988 with what is now Central Maine Community College and with the former Mid-State College. She was the academic dean and campus director at Mid-State College. She has served as president at Andover College in Portland and McIntosh College in Dover, N.H.
