Dear Sun Spots: Thanks to the readers who have previously helped our schools! Turner Elementary School and Turner Primary School are trying to raise money for their schools. To raise money we are collecting empty inkjet cartridges, empty laser cartridges, old/used cell phones, game consoles and laptops.

If any readers have any they would like to donate please phone me at 754-8170 and I can make arrangements to pick them up. Thank you. – Laurie Labbe , Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: Has Kathleen Shannon of Channel 6 had her baby yet? And what did she have? Also, Joe Cupo has his arm in a cast again. What is wrong with his arm? – M.S. Dryden.

Answer:
Sun Spots has been waiting for an answer on this particular item and confesses she lost track of it in the interim.

Shannon had twin boys in early February, according to station manager Steve Thaxton. At www.wcsh6.com you will find videos of Kathleen Shannon’s and husband’s baby twins!

Shannon is expected back to work in the late spring.

Regarding your second question, Cupo dislocated his shoulder in a skiing accident some time ago. Along with wearing a cast, he received physical therapy and Thaxton said has been some three weeks now without any impairment.

Dear Sun Spots: I was away and I understand that a column writer offered some plaques for the taking. I don’t need trophies but I could use three or four plaques if your writer wasn’t able to get rid of them, or if anyone else might have a few. I may be reached at 639-4296. Please leave a message. – W.D., Phillips.
