AUBURN – The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is offering a lifeguard certification course to be held on April 24, 25 and 26 and May 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9. Combined classroom and pool time will run about 6:30 to 10 p.m. each class.

There are several prerequisites for the course, including a 500-yard swim and a minimum age of 15. Upon completion of the course, the lifeguard certification and first aid are good for three years and the CPR expires after one year.

Course fee is $210, including materials. Registration is open, but class size is limited to eight students. Register at the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, 62 Turner St. There may also be space for those needing to recertify in CPR or LG/First Aid. For more information, call 795-4095 or stop by the YMCA.
