Chelsea Austin of Dixfield has been accepted to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., for the fall semester. She will be majoring in interior and architectural design.

Austin is the daughter of Darlene Whitaker of Dixfield and Stephen M. Austin of Rumford. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Donna Taylor of Dixfield and Faylene and the late Jerry Austin of Rumford. She is also the great-granddaughter of Eva Taylor of Dixfield and Laverne Whitaker of Bastrop, La.
