WELLS – Kristen Simpson’s bases-loaded triple highlighted a six-run outburst in the fifth inning to lift Poland to a season-opening 6-3 triumph over Wells.

Simpson also tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven for the pitching victory. Nicole Chinnock, Alicia Dube and Toni Ritchie added RBI singles in the decisive fifth inning.

Wells scored all three runs in the sixth, beginning with a triple by Lyn Cusuck and Jill Blier’s RBI double. The Warriors then added two unearned runs. Losing pitcher Amy Stone had 10 strikeouts.
