Seniors to meet
AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. There will be the usual raffle table. Bingo will be played following a bag lunch, and members are reminded to bring their cups.
When the group met April 11 under the direction of President Merry Strout, 57 members were present. April birthdays were acknowledged, and members joined in singing the “Happy Birthday” song. Attendance prize winners were Helen McGuire and Evelyn Sawin; pot of gold, Merry Strout, Edward Laine and Nancy Roy.
Seniors meal
AUBURN – First Auburn Senior Citizens will hold their annual anniversary celebration on Wednesday, May 2, with dinner at the Martindale Country Club. Doors will open at 11 a.m. A musical program will be presented by Charles Marshall.
Tickets are still available by calling Lorraine Marcous at 782-6785 through Wednesday, April 25.
OES to initiate
LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a special meeting for the purpose of initiation at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. All members of the order are invited.
CWA Night
AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet for a 6 p.m. supper at the hall on Thursday, April 26, in observance of CWA Night. The 7 p.m. program, which will be presented by the Committee on Women’s Activities, will feature speaker Bobbi LaChance and her seeing-eye dog, Kaddy, a black lab.
Membership certificates will be presented to several members by State Deputy Wes Ryder. A business meeting will follow the program. All members and guests are welcome.
Seniors meeting
SABATTUS – The April 12 Sabattus Senior Citizens’ dinner/meeting was opened by the Rev. Robert Parent with a prayer. The 93 members were served a spaghetti meal.
President Stan Pelletier called the meeting to order with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance, after which the birthday list was read and the birthday song was sung. Secretary Joline Loesberg read the minutes of the prior meetings and Treasurer Pauline Gemme gave the financial report.
The scholarship was presented to Renee Couturier, granddaughter of Alice Couturier, She is attending Emmanuel College.
The Thursday, May 3, dinner will be Chinese pie, pickles, dessert and beverages. Those who would like to attend should call Bob at 783-6955.
