PARIS – Cathy Newell, chairwoman of the Oxford County Democrats, will be a tour guide for an upcoming “field trip” to the State House in Augusta.

Newell estimates between 15 and 20 people will attend the event, which will take place Thursday.

The group will attend a meeting of committee chairs and meet Senate President Beth Edmonds of Cumberland.

Newell has also scheduled time to meet with Gov. John Baldacci; Bruce Bryant, a state senator from Dixfield; state representatives Timothy Carter of Bethel; John Patrick of Rumford; Teresea Hayes of Buckfield; and Lawrence Sirois of Turner.

In the afternoon, attendees will be allowed to attend committee meetings of personal interest.
