WINTHROP – Sophomore pitcher Jake Steele had an outstanding day, plating four runs while going 2-for-3 and earning the mound win, as Winthrop bolted to a five-inning mercy rule 12-2 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC baseball action Friday.

Shortstop Dave Ricker also went 2-for-3 for the Ramblers (3-0), while stealing three bases and collecing an RBI.

Left fielder Pat Anthony had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Roadrunners (1-2).
