WILTON- SeniorsPlus will give a presentation on Wednesday, May 23, for people who will be new to Medicare: either those approaching age 65 or those with a disability who will soon be eligible for Medicare Part A or B.

Beside Parts A and B (hospital and physician coverage) there are prescription drug plans, supplemental insurance plans and Medicare advantage plans. There are also programs that will help pay premiums and give extra benefits to those who qualify.

Medicare doesn’t cover the same way that many private insurance plans do and Medicare enrollees need to adjust to that.

SeniorsPlus is calling the presentation “Medicare Basics” because it is basic information on what to expect from Medicare and what to expect from the choices available. It will be held at 1 p.m. at the SeniorsPlus Community Center. 251 Route 2 E., Reservations are needed; call 1-888-234-3921

For everyone else, there are experienced counselors at SeniorsPlus who can help all Medicare beneficiaries with the choices they have and to help untangle problems. Many people are eligible for extra help with Medicare premiums and are not aware of it. Call the above numbers or 1-800-427-1241 for an appointment. For more information, visit www.seniorsplus.org.
