Baggage. It’s something all of us carry around invisibly through life. Typically distinguished as past experiences we’d rather forget, long held burdens, and overall chips on our shoulders, it’s not something we particularly look forward to picking up. Though these memories may be perpetually bound to us, it is what we take away from them that determines their true power.

Bad things happen to undeserving people every day. It’s unfortunate, but I have found that those who have gone through more are usually all the stronger for it. Having witnessed first hand the type of pain, both physical and emotional, friends have gone through, it’s amazing that they still find the power within themselves to go on. It seems as if, regardless of what gets thrown at them, they somehow miraculously recover only toshow the world an open heart and a brave face.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that life is full of potholes and chances are you’ll get a few good bumps and bruises along the journey, but in some ways, life is all about getting hurt, picking yourself back up, and proving to the world that nothing can hold you down. That type of mindset really shows that traveling with baggage doesn’t always have to be the worst thing.
