OXFORD – Students at the Boxberry School recently presented work from their Mainely Maine learning expedition. The “Periwinkle Room” (grades three and four) explained how their learning stations work and showed examples.

Students also presented brochures they created about a town in Maine, which took weeks to produce.

The “Green Room” (grades kindergarten, one and two), along with guest teachers Mike and Ben Murphy, presented their Candyland map and story. Students each had a large rectangle to design. When fit together, the rectangles formed a floor-sized map, and the features were made out of candy – houses, mountains, rocks and trees.

The students also presented a book of poetry where each student chose an animal native to Maine, drew a picture of the animal, and the words of the poem formed the outline of the animal.
