Food drive
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Post Office will hold its 15th annual food drive on Saturday, May 12. Residents should leave nonperishable food items in or on the mailbox for pick up. There will also be a food drop in the lobby of the post office from Wednesday through Saturday, May 9 to 12.
Plant course
WILTON – Invasive water plant monitoring, a free one-hour class, will be sponsored by Friends of Wilson Lake at 9:30 a.m. Saturday May 19, at Kineowatha Park. To register, call Susan at 645-2319.
Bag sale
JAY – North Jay Grange will hold a bag sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 19. People can fill a shopping bag with men’s, women’s and children’s clothing for $1. There are also used bikes for $5 to $20. Raffle tickets will be available on two $50 gas cards to be drawn on June 26. For more information, call 645-4628 or 645-4211. Teachers to meet
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Unit, Retired Teachers, will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Two Oaks, 218 Fairbanks Road. Phil Nadeau, Lewiston deputy administrator, will speak on Somali education. For reservations, call 778-4282.
Plant sale
WILTON – St. Luke’s will have its ninth annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 19, in the church parking lot or in the kitchen, depending on weather.
A variety of perennials, herbs, seedlings and houseplants will be available. There will also be gently used gardening books for sale.
