LEWISTON – Central Maine Medical Center will host its annual diabetes fair on Friday, May 11.

The event will feature presentations by a diabetes educator, pharmacist, dietitian and podiatrist. Free blood pressure checks, body mass index testing and a cooking demonstration will also highlight the fair. Several organizations will sponsor exhibits relating to diabetes care. New diabetes management technology will be displayed.

At 9 a.m., diabetic nurse educator Colleen Dutile, RN, MSN, will discuss “Diabetes Education: Why?”

“State of the Art in Diabetes Medications” will be the topic of a presentation by pharmacist Kevin Forbush, PharmD, at 9:30 a.m.

Registered dietitian Diane Jones will talk about “Meals in 30 Minutes” at 10 a.m. “Diabetes and the Foot” will be the subject of an 11 a.m. presentation by podiatrist Christopher Sacco.

Exhibitors will include Advance Orthotic Prosthetic Services, Hannaford Bros Co., the CMMC Bladder Control Center, CMMC Wellness Solutions, Healthy Androscoggin, Roche Diagnostics and Ross Products Division.

The fair will open at 8:30 a.m. and individuals may participate in all events or only in programs of special interest. The fair will be held in the CMMC Conference Center, located on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Complex.
