Author to visit

WILTON – Toni Buzzeo will present “The Author’s Path” for children and adults at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Wilton Free Public Library.

Buzzeo will present a puppet and flannelboard program to children in the Cushing School and “The Story behind the Story” program to children in the Academy Hill School on Thursday and Friday.

Her books include “Dawdle Duckling,” “Ready or Not, Dawdle Duckling,” “Little Loon and Papa,” “The Sea Chest” and “Our Librarian Won’t Tell Us Anything,” as well as resources for professionals.

The visit is funded by a grant received from MBNA last year written as collaboration between the Wilton school librarians and Wilton public librarians.

Sunday breakfast

FARMINGTON – A breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 13, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, corner of Academy and Main streets. The community is welcome; call the church office at 778-2163, to indicate the number who plan to attend. Donations will be accepted.

Pastor Susan Crane’s message for Sunday will focus on the Holy Spirit, “God-Within-Us.” The community is invited to worship at 10:30 a.m.

Plant sale

LIVERMORE – The Livermore Public Library on Church Street will hold a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday June 2 (or until the plants are gone). Perennials donated from gardens in the community will be for sale, with all proceeds to benefit the library. Also featured will be unique, one-of-a-kind handmade garden ornaments.

Bean supper

NEW SHARON – There will be a baked bean/casserole public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the New Sharon United Methodist Church Annex. The menu will include jelled salads, chop suey, casseroles, coleslaw, hot rolls, homemade pies and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $2 for children under 12. The proceeds will be used for current expenses. The supper is under the direction of the church Woman’s Society.
