RUMFORD – Kim Clark ripped an RBI single in the seventh inning to lift Mountain Valley to a 7-6 victory over Winthrop in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Abby Mills led the Falcons (4-4) with three hits and two RBIs, while Shelby Moore added two hits. Mountain Valley’s Elaina Waite allowed just four hits to notch the win.

The Ramblers (2-6) were paced by Ashley Marcelino with two hits, while Erika Gile was saddled with the loss.

Livermore Falls 13, Boothbay 1

LIVERMORE FALLS – Hannah McDaniel threw five innings of six-hit softball and received strong run support as Livermore Falls scored its first win of the season with a 13-1 rout over Boothbay.

In this battle of the previously winless, the Andies (1-6) were led by Jayde Purington and Rachel Labbe with two hits each. Pitcher Megan Closson paced the Seahawks (0-7) with two hits.

Fryeburg 4, Yarmouth 3

FRYEBURG – Hannah Hill scattered four hits and Dani Hill had two RBIs as Fryeburg Academy knocked off Yarmouth 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.

Hill and Cerise Humphrey contributed with two hits each for the undefeated Raiders. Yarmouth (3-6) was led by pitcher Abby Clatton with an RBI double.

G-NG 7, St. Dom’s 0

GRAY – Laura Getchell pitched a two-hit shutout as Gray-New Gloucester knocked off St Dom’s 7-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Ali Olmstead went 3-for-4 at the plate with a three-run triple to lead the Patriots (5-5) offense. Jen Cullen struck out six batters for the Saints (2-2).

Jay 9, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD – Alexis Smith allowed three hits, walked three and struck out 10 to lead Jay to a 9-0 shutout over Dirigo in a MVC softball tilt.

After five innings with only two runs scored, the Tigers (6-1) blew things open with five runs in the sixth.

Kaylie DeMillo led the way with an RBI double and two hits overall, while Emily Boivin added two hits and RBIs.

Telstar 12, Carrabec 0

BETHEL – Candace Hall hurled five innings of two-hit softball and got plenty of run support as Telstar powered its way past Carrabec 12-0 Wednesday.

Vicky Rice led the undefeated Rebels (8-0) with two hits and three RBIs, while Whitney Mills and Sarah Field added two hits each.

Emily Wamer went the distance for the Cobras and was tagged with the loss.

Madison 2, Monmouth 1

MADISON – Ashley Marandola hurled seven innings of three-hit softball as Madison edged Monmouth 2-1 in another MVC softball matchup. Amanda Poissonier led the Bulldogs (6-2) with two hits on the day.

Brittney Hilton handled pitching duties for the Mustangs, who scored their lone run in the sixth on an RBI single by catcher Beth Neal.

Falmouth 4, Poland 0

FALMOUTH – Eileen Brandes blanked Poland on three hits, striking out five as Falmouth topped Poland 4-0 Wednesday.

Kelly Morris, Katie McCarthy and Caty Abbott had multiple hit games for Falmouth.

Oxford Hills 3, Gardiner 0

GARDINER – Jen Jurczak tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven to lift Oxford Hills to a 3-0 victory over Gardiner.

Oxford Hills (8-1) scored all three runs in the top of the seventh. Diane Ramsey singled, advance to second on a passed ball and scored on Emmylou Blake’s single. Tia Pratt later walked with the bases loaded, and Jen Schnoor added an RBI single.

Courtney Allen took the loss for Gardiner.

EL 8, Mt. Ararat 5

TOPSHAM – Alice Read knocked in three runs and Megan Hussar added two RBIs to lead Edward Little to a 8-5 triumph over Mt. Ararat.

The Red Eddies (1-7) scored three times in the second and fourth innings to seize control. Winning pitcher Alyssa Levesque led the offense with three hits, while Kayla Cummings had two.

Leyna Valek hit a triple for the Eagles (0-8).

Waterville 6, Oak Hill 5

WATERVILLE – The Waterville softball squad rallied for four runs in the seventh inning Wednesday in a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC action.

Taylor Hart led the Panthers (3-6) with two hits and one RBI. Paige Gardner gave up nine hits on the way to her mound win.

The Raiders (4-5) were paced by Audrey Pelletier with three hits, while Becca Roberts and Angie Russell both belted doubles and had two RBIs. Russell also handled pitching duties and took the narrow loss.

Hebron 7, Berwick 6

HEBRON – Hebron scored three runs in the eighth inning for a 7-6 win over Berwick.

Kayla Chadwick scored the game-winning run for Hebron. Katherine Cole and Steph Roy had doubles.
