MECHANIC FALLS – School Union 29 held its annual art show on April 25 at the Elm Street School. Three schools participated in the event; Elm Street School, Minot Consolidated School and Poland Community School.

Art was displayed throughout the school gym, with every wall space and table top covered. Displays consisted of drawings, clay models, abstract art and computer-assisted drawings. Each school was represented with art from kindergarten through eighth-grade students.

“The Union 29 art show allows students to share their work and to illustrate the fine quality art programs we offer in our schools,” said Elm Street School Principal Mary Martin.

Throughout the school day, students from Minot and Poland were transported to Elm Street School to visit the show. The three art teachers in Union 29 organized and displayed the students’ work. Kellie Whitten, Elm Street School art teacher, hosted the show.

Parents and family were greeted by art teachers from each school, along with Martin and Assistant Principal Arthur Reed. The teachers told parents of their child’s art project as well as their progress in class.
