FREEPORT – A number of local students at the Maine Classical Christian School placed well in the Association for Christian Schools International Academic Day at the Bangor Christian School on April 27.
Christian schools from around the state sent students to participate in competitions in art, math, speech, science and music.
Hannah Strickland, Lisbon, took second place for graphic design. Ben Strickland, Lisbon, won third prize for black/white drawing, and Evan Poliquin, Auburn, earned third for color drawing.
Maine Classical Christian School is a full-time classical school for grades kindergarten to nine. Courses are also offered part time for grades 10 to 12. The school will continue with some reorganization. Starting in the fall, it will be a grades five to 12 school. To learn more, go to www.mainecs.org.
