Dear Sun Spots: I received two gift certificates to Atlantis Day Spa on Vernon Street in Auburn for Christmas. I have been trying to call the phone number listed on the certificate and I can never get an answer. Could you tell me if they are still in business? If not, how can I go about redeeming my certificates. Thanks for your help. – Carolyn Jones, Lisbon Falls.

Dear Sun Spots: I have a gift certificate to the Atlantis Day Spa which is now closed. Would you be able to find a telephone number so that I could call them? Sure would appreciate it. Thanks so much. – Sue Webster, Wales.

Answer:
There has been an unexpected transfer of ownership and they hope to reopen between May 15 and 30. According to a note posted on the door, all gift certificates will be honored by the new owners.

Dear Sun Spots: Please inform C.W. of Lewiston, the person offering quilting materials and supplies in your May 12 Sun Spots column, that The Women’s Club of Greene would greatly appreciate any donation of 100 percent cotton material and supplies.

We have several local quilters who are willing to make quilts as gifts to give to area less privileged children and seniors through our annual Share, So Others Will Know You Care Christmas program.

C.W. or anyone else with quilting materials and supplies that they’d like to donate may call Brenda at 946-5750. Thank you. – Brenda Theriault, Greene.

Dear Sun Spots: I was recently given a VCR. I wonder if there might be someone that has any VCR movies that they no longer use and would be willing to donate them or sell them to me for a reasonable price? I am on a fixed income and could pay a small fee, if need be. I truly would appreciate them. I may be reached at 784-6006. – No Name, Auburn.
