Class luncheon

Class reunion
RUMFORD – Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Sam’s in Virginia. Those who plan to attend the Saturday, Aug. 11, reunion at the Carriage House in Livermore are asked to bring $20 for that.
Legion supper
RUMFORD – American Legion Post 24 wil hold a public supper from 4:30 p.m. until sold out on Thursday, May 24. The menu will include sirloin tips, mashed potato, gravy, string beans and dessert.
Farmer’s market
MEXICO – The River Valley Farmer’s Market will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Labonville. The market is in a new location this year and open every Friday until mid-October.
Local selections will vary from week to week. Local vendors will be selling maple syrup, honey, baked beans, bread, eggs, meat, greens, flowers, herbs and vegetable seedlings, candy and baked goods.

Mexico fun day
MEXICO – There will be a Family Fun Day at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Mexico Gazebo behind the Town Hall.
The day will include a craft fair/flea market, children’s games, farmer’s market, food, raffles and music.
At 4 p.m. there will be a chicken barbecue and at 5 p.m. The Project will begin playing. For more information, contact Deb Grant at 514-7639.
Mud run
MEXICO – The River Valley Mud Run will take place on Saturday, May 26, next to Coulthard’s Pools and Spas on Route 2. Racing will start at 11 a.m. Live music will follow the deep mud competition. On Sunday, May 27, racing will start at 11 a.m. Registration is $15; gate, $10. For more information, call 369-0376 or 377-3800.
Memorial parade
RUMFORD – The American Legion Post 24 and VFW will sponsor the annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 28. The parade will form at the old Agway building at 9:30 a.m., leave at 10 and proceed down Congress Street to the memorial at the traffic circle.
A ceremony will be conducted at the memorial, then the parade will reform at the Mexico Plaza.
It will continue down Route 2 to the Mexico Memorial, and a second ceremony will be conducted. All veterans, groups and organizations are invited to participate.
