Michael P. Walsh, a 2004 graduate of Jay High School, entered the Army in September of 2005.

He is in the D/co 1-508th P.I.R 82nd Airborne Division, deployed in Afghanistan. Walsh was promoted to SPC E-4 on May 1. He has been in Afghanistan since February.

Walsh became the father of a baby girl, Breanna Michael Walsh, on March 23.

He has not met his daughter yet, but he will be home on leave June 9 and will meet his daughter and be reunited with his wife, Allison.
