JAY – The Memorial Day ceremony schedule has been planned for Jay-Livermore Falls on Monday, May 28.
Before the parade, participants will gather at 6:30 a.m. at VFW Post 3335. Amvets Post 33 will conduct a ceremony at 7 a.m. at Livermore Falls Memorial Bridge followed at 7:20 a.m., a ceremony at the Livermore Veterans Memorial, led by the American Legion Post 10.
VFW Post 3335 will hold a ceremony at 7:45 a.m. at the Jay POW/MIA Bridge. Hyla Friedman and Jay residents will conduct a ceremony at .8:15 a.m. at the Jay Hill Cemetery.
Line up for the parade will take place at 9 a.m. at the Memco Building, Main Street, Jay, and the parade will march off at 10.
Along the parade route, a prayer and ceremony will be held by American Legion Post 10 at the Chisholm Square World War II Monument.
Other stops will be as follows: Richardson Cemetery Monument, prayer and ceremony by Amvets Post 33; Grand Army of the Republic Monument, prayer and ceremony by the Knights of Columbus; Livermore Falls Park World War I and World War II monuments, prayer and ceremony by VFW Post 3333. Fire, police and emergency services will hold prayer and wreath-laying also.
After the parade, at 12:15 p.m., at the Fayette Veterans Memorial, there will be prayer and ceremony by the American Legion Post 10; VFW Monument, prayer and ceremony by the VFW Post 3335.
