LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education will honor a long-time instructor who is leaving and welcome a new staff member.
Ann Marie Vallotti has worked at Lewiston Adult Education’s College Transition Program for more than seven years. In that time, she has helped to develop and been the primary instructor for this nationally recognized comprehensive program focusing on reading, writing, math and study skills for adults.
Vallotti has helped more than 200 local residents develop skills, most of whom have moved on to enroll in and be successful at college.
Vallotti will leave Lewiston Adult Education at the end of the semester as she and her family will relocate to a new state.
Lewiston Adult Education is hosting an open house to honor Vallotti from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the B Street Community Center. Call 795-4141 to RSVP.
The work at the College Transitions Program will continue with a new instructor. Roger Guay, former Trio Student Services adviser and tutor at UMA-LAC, will join Lewiston Adult Education to facilitate the program summer session.
The summer program will begin on Tuesday, June 26. Any local adult with a GED or high school diploma looking to build skills to prepare for college entrance is welcome to apply. Contact Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141 for details and registration information.
