Healthcare Foundation re-elects board member
NORWAY – Members of the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation met on May 16 in the Harper Conference Center at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Don Mayberry, Western Maine Health board chairman, welcomed the group and led the process for the election of foundation board members, during which Frank Shorey was re-elected to a three-year term as a community-at-large member.
Ted Moccia holds another community-at-large member and one seat is vacant. The foundation board is comprised of nine Western Maine Health trustees and three community members-at-large.
Timothy A. Churchill, president and chief executive officer of WMH, presented the 2006 annual report as well as the goals for 2007 and included a special presentation commemorating the 50th anniversary of the hospital, which is taking place this year.
Special recognition was given to Dr. Harry Harper, author, and the Rev. Henry Male, editor, of the new “A Recall of the 50-Year History of Stephens Memorial Hospital,” recently published and available for purchase at the SMH coffee shop.
The Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation directs the fundraising and philanthropic activities of Western Maine Health, including Stephens Memorial Hospital.
