CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs came out swinging – and no, not at each other.

Mark DeRosa hit a grand slam, Alfonso Soriano and Derrek Lee added solo homers, and the Cubs closed out a tumultuous weekend by beating the Atlanta Braves 10-1 on Sunday to snap a six-game losing streak.

Sean Marshall (1-2) allowed one run and six hits in 6 2-3 innings in his third start since being recalled from Triple-A Iowa. He walked one batter and struck out eight.

Phillies 9, Giants 8

PHILADELPHIA – Shane Victorino hit a game-ending homer in the ninth inning, and Ryan Howard’s three-run shot in the seventh helped the Phillies outslug San Francisco.

With the score tied and one out, Victorino drove a 1-0 pitch from Kevin Correia (1-2) over the left-field fence for the first game-winning homer of his career.

Diamondbacks 4, Mets 1

NEW YORK – Doug Davis allowed a run and six hits in 7 2-3 innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks won for the ninth time in 10 games.

The Diamondbacks concluded a successful six-game road trip through Philadelphia and New York, winning five of six. Meanwhile, the Mets lost a home series for the first time since April 15-17 against Atlanta.

Rockies 10, Reds 9

DENVER – Back in the lineup after being benched for two games, Garrett Atkins homered and singled in the winning run in the 10th to help Colorado rally past Cincinnati.

Kaz Matsui, who hit a bases-loaded triple in the eighth to lead Colorado’s comeback from a six-run deficit, opened the 10th with a single off Victor Santos (1-1) and went to second on Santos’ wild pickoff attempt.

Cardinals 8, Astros 6

HOUSTON – So Taguchi and Albert Pujols hit 10th-inning homers off Dan Wheeler, lifting St. Louis to its fourth win in five games.

Pujols also homered in the eighth off Chad Qualls, and David Eckstein hit his sixth career leadoff home run for the Cardinals.

Dodgers 5, Pirates 4

PITTSBURGH – Andre Ethier’s two-run homer in the eighth off former Pirates closer Salomon Torres finished Los Angeles’ five-run comeback in the late innings.

Dodgers closer Takashi Saito left with a sore hamstring in the bottom of the ninth, but the injury isn’t considered serious. Joe Beimel was given as much time as he needed to warm up before finishing for his first save.

Brewers 3, Marlins 0

MILWAUKEE – Ben Sheets pitched six shutout innings and the Milwaukee Brewers won their first series in nearly a month.

Sheets (6-3) struck out seven and walked one to move to 5-1 in his past seven starts. He beat Dontrelle Willis (7-4), who walked a career-high six and struck out none in six innings.

Padres 7, Nationals 3

WASHINGTON – Josh Bard homered and drove in a career-high four runs, David Wells threw five solid innings in the rain and San Diego beat Washington.

Bard hit a three-run homer in the first inning.

, and Hiram Bocachica’s solo homer – his first hit since being claimed on waivers from Oakland on Thursday – snapped a fifth-inning tie.

Wells (3-3) won for the second time in seven starts, allowing three runs on five hits as the Padres won for the seventh tim in nine games.

Ryan Zimmerman homered for the Nationals, who fell to 6-22 against the Padres since August 2003.

Jason Simontacchi (2-4) gave up six runs – four earned – on five hits over 4 2-3 innings.
