Breastfeeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at 102 Bennett Ave.
Babies are welcome. The discussion, “Great Beginnings: Establishing and Maintaining Breastfeeding,” will focus on preparing to nurse baby at birth and adjusting to babies’ changing needs as a family.
All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion.

NEW GLOUCESTER – Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Opportunity Farm.
Julie Poulin of Opportunity Farm will be the guest speaker. Members should bring a bag lunch and ideas for projects for next year.
Membership to the Daughters of the American Revolution is open to any woman over age 18 who can prove direct blood lineage to anyone who fought for the cause of the Revolution or gave aid to them.

Going to regional
MECHANIC FALLS – Sixteen teams from Maine schools have earned invitations to compete at the 10th annual Northeast Regional Junior Solar Sprint Championship on Sunday, June 10, in Springfield, Mass. The Elm Street School was among them.
Every year, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association invites top winners from local Sprint races across the Northeast to compete at the regional championship.
The Junior Solar Sprint is a kids’ science and engineering project that was originally started by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the early 1990s.
Local teams were invited to the regional competition after the Maine State Junior Solar Sprint area race organized by Maine Energy Education Program.
Teams will compete for top awards in innovation, craftsmanship, technical merit and speed.
