If the tournament raises one-tenth of the $6 million purse for kids with cancer, I’ll begrudgingly say it was a success.

MLB: Red Sox at Diamondbacks

Dice-K vs. Randy Johnson. The Mania vs. The Mullet. Mercenary present vs. mercenary past. Smart money’s on a slow-pitch softball score.

Women’s Golf: LPGA Championship

4 p.m., Golf Channel

Allegedly a “major,” on a network with all the reach of CSPAN3. Who negotiated this TV contract, Gary Bettman?
