Partnership, cameras rolling for videos
PARIS – “Ready, Set, Action” was heard frequently at the Paris Big Apple Food Store recently.
The Oxford Hills Technical School advanced communications class, in conjunction with Big Apple Food Stores, have been working to produce WECARD videos.
WECARD videos are used in the training of employees to be responsible retailers. The advanced communications class, under the direction of instructor, Tim Ouillette, have written, starred in and filmed several videos. The partnership enables the students to delve into the needs of the retail field, experiencing real life settings.
Big Apple Food Stores adopted a zero tolerance policy of the sale of alcohol and/or tobacco to minors. In accordance with the policy, Big Apple Food Stores request that proper ID be shown by everyone in order to purchase alcohol and/or tobacco. The WECARD videos are a training method used to enforce the policy.
The class consists of students considering media communications as an advanced field of study. The headquarters for Big Apple Food Store, owned and operated by C.N. Brown Co., is located in South Paris.
