LEWISTON – Rep. Elaine Makas was joined by Sen. Peggy Rotundo, Rep. Margaret Craven, Rep. Richard Wagner and Rep. Will Walcott in presenting a sentiment to Dr. Zark VanZandt of New Gloucester, dean of the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College.

VanZandt is stepping down to return to the position of a senior faculty member in the counselor education program in January 2008. VanZandt previously served as the associate dean of the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Southern Maine and as the interim director of the university’s libraries.

The entire Lewiston/Auburn delegation cosponsored a legislative sentiment put forth by Rep. Makas to acknowledge his dedicated service to the University of Southern Maine, the College of Lewiston-Auburn and the communities they serve.
