AUGUSTA – State Rep. Jim Hamper, R-Oxford, and state Rep. Sawin Millett, R-Waterford, announce that the Maine Department of Education will hold a meeting on the new School Administrative Reorganization law at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris.
Jim Rier, the Department of Education’s director of finance and operations, will facilitate the meeting.
The law was enacted on June 7 as a part of the two-year state budget.
School systems must submit their reorganization plan or alternative plan to the commissioner of education by Dec. 1.
Twenty-six meetings will be held throughout Maine.
