Cadet Erik Leigh Munn, son of Kerry and Jane Munn of Norway, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on May 26.
Munn graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in 2003. While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in Arabic and Spanish along with the other academic, physical, and military requirements. During all four years at the Academy, he rowed on the Army Crew Team and was a member of the varsity-eight during his final two years.
Munn also had the opportunity to travel abroad during his time at West Point. He spent one month at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, during the summer before his third year, working in the Defense Attache Office and also traveling the country.
Munn was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation. He has branched Infantry Corps and will complete his Officer Basic Course and Ranger School at Ft. Benning. Upon completion of these courses he will be stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
