PERU – The annual meeting of the Worthley Pond Association will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, at the Rockemeka Grange. Agenda items include the Lake Smart Program, Courtesy Boat Inspection Program and election of officers for 2007-08.

The association’s annual welcome back social will be held at the summer home of Orville and Donna Lind at 336 Greenwoods Road from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30. Anyone interested in attending this social event to catch up on the winter news, to see old friends, and make new friends around the pond is invited.

The association’s store is now open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The store is located on the Greenwoods Road. New baseball style caps, t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, steins and shorts are on sale. FMI, call association President Dave Clement at 562-4611.

The association’s boat inspection program has being run by some paid employees and many diligent volunteers keeping track of the number of watercraft inspected entering and leaving the pond. Last year, a couple of hundred watercraft were inspected to ensure pristine pond water.
